Ways of Working Nudge
Antipattern: order giver, order taker with low autonomy. Here are your tasks, do them without question, in your role-based silo.
In the previous four technology-led revolutions, managers told workers exactly what to do and when to do it. This evolved in the context of repetitive, manual, labour, with humans as cogs in the machine.
The prevailing view in the West was that only the manager knows best.
Unfortunately, we still see this behaviour today, in the context of unique, unknowable knowledge work.
Pattern: high alignment (shared goals for multidisciplinary teams) with high autonomy (a wide road with high kerbs, not laissez-faire).
