Ways of Working Nudge

What a great three days at the Enterprise Technology Leadership Summit! I enjoyed presenting Certified Really AI Practitioner (CR*P2!) and learning from others 😀

Key takeaways:

💡 AI is an amplifier. Just as agile dev teams led to DevOps, GenAI shifts the pain points. It doesn’t remove them, it magnifies them. See latest DORA report.

🏗️ That makes foundations non-negotiable: clear strategy, nested feedback loops, adaptability, clarity on what “value” means (for both producer & consumer), and organising for outcomes, with speed and control.

🤝 As always, it’s all about people. Minimise fear, exhibit leadership at all levels, have an emergent mindset, nurture psychological safety, minimise time to learning and remember that technology succeeds only when people thrive.

🔄 Refactor end-to-end processes. Don’t just automate the old ways of working, continuously improve them aligned to a balance set of outcomes.

🎯 Focus on business value. AI isn’t a sprinkle-on garnish; it has to be baked into the core.

The takeaway?
👉 The winners won’t just be the ones who adopt AI fastest. They’ll be the ones who adapt their culture, leadership, and operating models to continuously improve towards a balanced set of outcomes such as Better Value Sooner Safer Happier.

Great job on the programming Gene Kim and execution Margueritte Kim, Ann Perry, Jeff Gallimore and the IT Revolution team 🙏.
