Ways of Working Nudge
All models are wrong, some are useful.
Everyone is right, but only partially.
Discussing a model is super useful, to clarify intent and thought processes.
Language and meaning is critically important.
Often the same word has many different meanings or interpretations.
e.g. 'Bananas are bad. Use bananas instead. That's not my banana'.
Context, empathy and kindness count.
Listening to understand counts.
IMO, it is one of the most respectful things that we can do. Give space, to listen to understand, with playback.
Our brains map what we hear to the pathways already in our heads. Playing back what someone has said or written helps to 'debug' what we've translated.
If you have a point to make, can you make it by asking the right questions?
Was the question above a question to illustrate the point that you can test your point by asking a question? 😜
Personally, I strive to 'seek first to understand before being understood' (Covey).
Regards, Jon
