Ask yourself the question "how many times have we done this exact thing, with these exact people, in this exact context"?
If the answer is never, optimise for emergence (unknowability). Small multidiscipinary teams, clear outcome goals, high autonomy, experimentation, optionality, psychological safety, customer proximity, fast feedback loops and so on.
If the answer is thousands of times a day, you don't need the above. Pursue continuous improvement. That might take the form of standardisation, autonomation, minimising variability in the repetitive tasks, and so on.
In both cases there should be Respect For People and making use of the intellect of everyone: humane, engaging, ways of working
